About Manthraa Yamunatheeram

Nestled in a private 4 acre property amidst Areca plantation, paddy fields and song of birds; Mantraa Yamunatheeram is your home away from home. Here you rejuvenate your soul and your being with the service and guidance of trained Ayurveda physicians, skilled healing therapists, and yoga gurus; you can indulge yourself for a healthy treat for your body and the mind. We help you to cut off from the hectic world filled with deadlines, pressure, stress, emotional turmoil and the daily rush. We help you to slow down, for a few days and take life easily and help you to be in the moment! We do not stake claim to being a resort; but we are “the destination” for healing and well-being.

Vengayil Kunhiraman Nayanar (1861 – 14 November 1914) was a essay writer, critic and short story writer, and a prominent landlord of Malabar. He wrote the first Malayalam short story, Vasanavikriti.

Yamunatheeram is built on his ancestral property which is no more there in existence. So this property has historical connection.

“Pure Air, lush green areca farm, tasty food, vibrant energy................... this is God's own country inside Yamunatheeram.”

We were visiting from France with my wife and our little baby. Our stay at Mantraa Yamunatheeram was amazing, the place is a hidden gem, in the middle of nature and easily accessible from the airport. Special thanks to Dr.Akshay for the consultation and overseeing our stay and therapies. Thanks also to Kavita at the reception and the Managers and the therapists Jitu, Gopika and Anil. The rooms are nice and confortable and the resort is very well located to visit different places of interest(a nice beach, ancient temples, boat rides, etc). They even organised us rubber tapping, toddy tapping, Yoga and other activities. We had visited south Kerala twice already and we preferred much more Kannur as its less explored(I think this will soon change as there is a new airport that opened in late 2018), Cleaner and very authentic. We will be back soon.

320 years old Natural Pond

This natural pond has a historical connection. The property in which Yamunatheeram exist, was  earlier the ancestral property of Malayalam’s first short story writer Vengayil Kunhiraman Nayanar. He used to spent a lot of time around here. In those halcyon days, evolved the creation of first short story in malayalam called “Vasana Vikriti”. The rendezvous between the writer and the pond reflects the tranquility and placidness, a serenely quiet and pleasantly calm nature’s gift.

Padabhyanga or foot message on the side lines of pool in the early morning is an amazing experience you would never forget in your lifetime.
